President's Message
My Dear Fellow Centralians The preparation for the 7th CPUAA Global Reunion has successfully passed its first phase. We, the Sydneysiders, your humble hosts, are well pleased to announce that the foundation for this event is complete. We are now in the second stage where the challenge gets more pressing and pronounced as we continue to search for the individual bricks required for the structure to rise from the groundwork and hopefully culminate into the final stage of this historic monumental endeavour which introduces and glorifies our alma mater, Central Philippine University into this section of the world, the continent of Australia.
The challenge for the organisers to search for attendees has been greatly aided by the expediency and convenience of the Internet which we vigorously employ to campaign and advertise as our main platform and vantage point in our hope to reach every corner of the world. Reading this, you are currently in the website dedicated to CPUAA-Australia Chapter, Inc. www.cpuaaaustralia.org.au is our main access and engine to serve and inform those who wish to be served and informed. I can say with pleasure and pride that this website, along with our exclusive Face book pages, is the creation of our very own colleague to whom I am truly grateful.
The Sydneysiders are lovingly commended for their dedication and selflessness to make some of our dreams come true in relation to this occasion. They have sacrificed time, money and a good deal of effort without the thought of being compensated – driven perhaps by the sheer desire to be counted on, to be of help, never forced but purely of their own volition. After all, they are Centralians. But on second thought, with you reading this, you might be one too. The question then is, “Can we count on you?” By joining us for the Global Reunion, you will have made not only a commitment but an act of charity for which CPU students can benefit from.
By asking if you be willing to join us in this memorable celebration, I have effectively thrown the ball into your court. You’re decision as to what you want to do with it could have a positive or negative impact but, trite as it is to say, at the end of the day, it’s really your call. If you are truly interested to join, please register now. The deadline for registration is fast approaching. Payment puts you in good stead and assists us with the dilemma of whether to renegotiate or not with the venues we have contracted.
It is my fervent wish that the Global Reunion is not a flash in the pan that goes quickly down memory lane but a significant indication that the Central Spirit has truly become global and is being felt across the vast expanse of the Land Down under. I hope such spirit is revived amongst us Australian Centralians so that what has been sowed through this event will ramify and perpetuate for others to follow through in our bid to be a vital cog and presence in this region as benefactors for the less fortunate but deserving scholars who wish to be Centralians themselves so they may be better equipped intellectually and spiritually to hurdle the real challenges outside the halls of CPU.
